Vabomere (meropenem and vaborbactam injection)

Vabomere (meropenem and vaborbactam) for injection is a combination of a penem antibacterial and a beta-lactamase inhibitor, indicated for the treatment of patients 18 years and older with complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI) including pyelonephritis caused by designated susceptible bacteria.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• fever,
• seizure,
• sore throat,
• skin pain,
• severe stomach pain,
• diarrhea that is watery or bloody,
• red or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling,
• unusual bleeding, and
• burning in your age,
• sores or white patches in your mouth or throat (yeast infection or “thrush”)
• severe tingling or numbness,
• easy bruising
