Macrilen (macimorelin) is a growth hormone (GH) secretagogue receptor agonist indicated for the diagnosis of adult growth hormone deficiency.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • diarrhea,
  • nausea,
  • headache,
  • dizziness,
  • fatigue,
  • changes in taste,
  • feeling hot,
  • hunger,
  • upper respiratory tract infection,
  • excess sweating,
  • runny or stuffy nose,
  • and slow heart rate.
The following drugs are related to Macrilen, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Genotropin (somatropin [rdna origin])
  • Humatrope (somatropin rdna origin)
  • Norditropin (somatropin injection)
