Surfaxin (lucinactant) is a surfactant indicated for the prevention of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), a breathing disorder that affects premature infants.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • intraventricular hemorrhage
  • sepsis
  • patent ductus arteriosus
  • retinopathy
  • necrotizing enterocolitis and
  • lung problems
