Zyvox (linezolid)

Zyvox (linezolid) is an antibacterial drug used to treat susceptible Gram-positive infections (for example, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp.). Zyvox is available in other countries under the generic name linezolid.

This drug may have the following side effects:

  • difficulty breathing,
  • nausea,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • fever,
  • easy bruising,
  • unusual bleeding,
  • pale skin,
  • cold hands and feet,
  • confusion,
  • stomach pain,
  • dizziness,

  • agitation,
  • sore throat,
  • burning eyes,
  • skin pain,
  • red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling,
  • mouth sores,
  • seizures,
  • severe stomach pain,
  • trouble breathing,
  • hallucinations,
  • feeling cold,
  • twitching,
  • fast heart rate,
  • skin sores,
  • diarrhea that is watery or bloody,
  • severe skin reaction,
  • loss of coordination,
  • shortness of breath
  • muscle stiffness,
  • lightheadedness, and
  • swelling in your face or throat,
  • changes in your vision,
  • unusual muscle pain,
  • shivering, 
  • irregular heart rate,
  • feeling very weak or tired,
  • feeling anxious or shaking,
