Zingo (lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate) is a local anesthetic used on intact skin to provide topical local analgesia prior to venipuncture or peripheral intravenous cannulation. The brand name Zingo is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• lightheadedness,
• slow heart rate,
• seizures,
• twitching,
• tremors,
• weak or shallow breathing,
• weak pulse,
• severe anxiety, and
• sudden feeling of heat, cold, or numbness,
• muscle stiffness and pain,
• blue appearance of the skin,
• unusual fear or uneasy feeling
