Lixtraxen (lidocaine hydrochloride and epinephrine injection)

Lixtraxen 1% (lidocaine hydrochloride and epinephrine injection, solution) is a combination of a local anesthetic and a sympathomimetic (adrenergic) agent used to produce local or regional anesthesia by infiltration techniques such as percutaneous injection, by peripheral nerve block techniques such as brachial plexus and intercostal and by central neural techniques such as lumbar and caudal epidural blocks.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• vomiting,
• lightheadedness,
• confusion,
• dizziness,
• nausea
• low blood pressure (hypotension),
• nervousness,
• headaches,
• slow heart rate,
• drowsiness,
• abdominal pain,
• twitching,
• tremors,
• convulsions,
• blurred or double vision,
• euphoria,
• shivering, and
• apprehension,
• ringing in the ears (tinnitus),
• sensations of heat, cold or numbness,
• unconsciousness,
• respiratory depression and arrest,
• cardiovascular collapse,
• allergic reactions (hives, swelling, or anaphylaxis),
• backache,
