Synera (lidocaine and tetracaine)
type of Anesthetics, Topical
Synera (lidocaine 70 mg and tetracaine 70 mg) Topical Patch contains a local anesthetic used on intact skin to provide local dermal analgesia for superficial venous access and superficial dermatological procedures such as excision, electrodessication and shave biopsy of skin lesions.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- lightheadedness,
- shortness of breath,
- fast heartbeats,
- tiredness,
- blurred vision,
- headache,
- wheezing,
- ringing in your ears, and
- severe burning, stinging, or other irritation where the medicine was applied,
- sudden dizziness or drowsiness after the medicine is applied,
- pale, gray, or blue colored skin,
- unusual sensations of hot or cold
The following drugs are related to Synera, either as a replacement or used together:
- Flector Patch (diclofenac epolamine topical patch)
- Duragesic (fentanyl transdermal)
- Lidoderm (lidocaine patch 5%)
