Thyro-Tabs (levothyroxine sodium)

Thyro-Tabs (levothyroxine sodium) tablets are L-thyroxine (T4) indicated as replacement therapy in primary (thyroidal), secondary (pituitary), and tertiary (hypothalamic) con genital or acquired hypothyroidism; and as an adjunct to surgery and radioiodine therapy in the management of thyrotropin-dependent well-differentiated thyroid cancer.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • diarrhea,
  • shortness of breath,
  • tiredness,
  • chest pain,
  • headache,
  • nervousness,
  • mood changes,
  • shaking,
  • swelling hands, ankles, or feet,
  • severe dizziness
  • increased sweating,
  • bone pain,
  • mood swings,
  • seizures, and
  • fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat,
  • sensitivity to heat,
  • easily broken bones, 
The following drugs are related to Thyro-Tabs, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Pacerone (amiodarone hcl tablets)
  • Targretin (bexarotene)
  • Videx (didanosine pediatric powder for oral solution)
  • Tapazole (methimazole)
