Seasonique (levonorgestrel, ethinyl estradiol)

Seasonique (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol) is a combination of forms of progesterone and estrogen, female hormones, used as a contraceptive to prevent pregnancy. Seasonique is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• headache,
• dizziness,
• vomiting,
• changes in your menstrual periods, or
• stomach cramping,
• bloating,
• vaginal discomfort/irritation/itching,
• breast tenderness/enlargement/swelling,
• nipple discharge,
• freckles or darkening of facial skin,
• increased hair growth,
• loss of scalp hair,
• changes in weight or appetite,
• decreased sex drive.

• problems with contact lenses,
• swelling of the ankles/feet (fluid retention),
• nausea (especially when you first start taking Seasonique),
