Orsythia (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol tablets)

Orsythia (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol kit) is a combination of female hormones used to prevent pregnancy in women who elect to use oral contraceptives as a method of contraception.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• dizziness,
• nervousness,
• vomiting, and
• hair loss,
• missed menstrual periods,
• pancreatitis,
• changes in vaginal discharge,
• nipple discharge,
• acne,
• changes in menstrual periods,
• spotting,
• excess unwanted hair growth,
• fluid retention (edema),
• changes in sex drive,
• breast tenderness/pain/enlargement,
• rash (allergic),
• problems with contact lenses,
• temporary infertility after discontinuation of treatment,
• mood changes (including depression),
• diminution in lactation when given immediately postpartum,
• gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, cramps, and bloating),
• dark or tan skin discoloration,
• vaginitis, vaginal yeast infection,
• changes in weight or appetite
