Quixin (levofloxacin ophthalmic solution 0.5%)

Quixin (levofloxacin ophthalmic solution 0.5%) is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes. Quixin is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • fever,
  • sore throat
  • headache, or
  • sensitivity of the eyes to light,
  • feeling as if something is in the eye,
  • temporary blurred or decreased vision,
  • temporary stinging/burning/pain/discomfort in the eyes,
  • dry or itchy eyes,
The following drugs are related to Quixin, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Allegra (fexofenadine hcl)
  • Allegra-D (fexofenadine hcl and pseudoephedrine hcl)
  • Allegra-D 24 Hour (fexofenadine hcl 180 and pseudoephendrine hcl 240)
  • Elestat (epinastine hcl ophthalmic solution)
  • Emadine (emedastine difumarate ophthalmic solution)
  • Gantanol (sulfamethoxazole)
  • Iquix (levofloxacin ophthalmic solution 1.5%)
  • Polytrim (polymyxin b sulfate and trimethoprim ophthalmic solution, usp, sterile)
  • Tobrex (tobramycin ophthalmic ointment)
