Lariam (mefloquine hydrochloride) is an antimalarial agent used to treat or prevent malaria. Lariam is available in generic form.
The drug is often used to treat Malaria .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- upper stomach pain,
- loss of appetite,

- dark urine,
- clay-colored stools, and
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
- lightheadedness,
- shortness of breath,
- confusion,

- paranoia,
- ringing in your ears,
- sudden headache,
- unusual behavior,

- thoughts about suicide,
- uneven heartbeats,
