Lampit (nifurtimox tablets)

Lampit (nifurtimox) is a nitrofuran antiprotozoal, indicated in pediatric patients (birth to less than 18 years of age and weighing at least 2.5 kg) for the treatment of Chagas disease (American Trypanosomiasis), caused by Trypanosoma cruzi.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- itching,
- dark urine,
- lightheadedness,
- weight loss,
- numbness,
- tingling,
- severe stomach pain,
- decreased appetite,
- muscle pain.
- mental changes, and
- skin sensitivity to light
