Lamisil (terbinafine)
type of Antifungals, Systemic
Lamisil (terbinafine hydrochloride) is an antifungal antibiotic used to treat infections caused by fungus that affect the fingernails or toenails (onychomycosis). Oral granules are used to treat a fungal infection of scalp hair follicles in children who are at least 4 years old. Lamisil is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- upper stomach pain,
- dark urine,
- vomiting,
- easy bruising,
- pale skin,
- tiredness,
- clay-colored stools,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
- swelling,
- rapid weight gain,
- ,
- little or no urinating,
- blood in your urine or stools,
- sleep problems,
- skin sores, and
- Depressed mood,
- purple or red pinpoint spots under your skin
- changes in your sense of taste or smell,
- lack of interest in daily activity,
- feeling anxious or restless,
- unusual bleeding (nose, mouth, vagina or rectum),
- weight loss due to taste changes or loss of appetite,
- butterfly-shaped skin rash on your cheeks or nose that worsens in sunlight
