Kovanaze (tetracaine HCl and oxymetazoline HCl) Nasal Spray contains an ester local anesthetic and a vasoconstrictor and is indicated for regional anesthesia when performing a restorative procedure on Teeth 4-13 and A-J in adults and children who weigh 40 kg or more.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • itching,
  • dark urine,
  • fever,
  • skin rash,
  • easy bruising,
  • unusual bleeding,
  • pale skin,
  • lightheadedness,
  • confusion,
  • dizziness,
  • blurred vision,
  • headache,
  • fainting,
  • nervousness,
  • pounding in the ears,
  • sweating,
  • cough,
  • tightness in the chest,
  • trouble swallowing,
  • vomiting
  • chest pain or pressure,
  • unusual tiredness,
  • sore throat,
  • loss of consciousness,
  • difficulty speaking,
  • tunnel vision,
  • seeing halos around lights,
  • double vision,
  • stuffy nose,
  • pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck,
  • inability to speak,
  • redness of the skin,
  • bluish-colored lips, fingernails, or palms,
  • slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat,
  • nose bleeds,
  • ulcers in the nose,
  • loss of color perception,
  • inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles,
  • night blindness,
  • loss of blood pressure or pulse,
  • overbright appearance of lights,
  • slow speech,
  • unusual tiredness or weakness, and
