Jornay PM (methylphenidate hydrochloride extended-release capsules)

Jornay PM (methylphenidate hydrochloride) is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in patients 6 years and older.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • fast heartbeats,
  • chest pain,
  • fainting,
  • agitation,
  • irregular heartbeats,
  • impulsive behavior,
  • irritableness,
  • depression,
  • increased blood pressure,
  • hallucinations,
  • racing thoughts,
  • decreased need for sleep,
  • changes in behavior,
  • stroke,
  • heart attack,
  • feeling overly happy or “high”,
  • extreme restlessness,
  • engaging in risky behavior,  
  • prolonged erection or a painful erection of the penis,
  • numbness or cool feeling in fingers, toes, ears and tip of the nose, and
  • color changes of the skin

  • Ritalin LA (methylphenidate hydrochloride extended-release capsules)
