Janumet XR (sitagliptin and metformin hcl)

Janumet XR (sitagliptin and metformin HCl) Extended-release Tablets contains two oral antidiabetic medications indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both sitagliptin and metformin extended-release is appropriate. Janumet XR should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • shortness of breath,
  • confusion,
  • rapid breathing,
  • dizziness,
  • blurred vision,
  • joint pain,
  • unusual tiredness,
  • increased thirst,
  • increased urination,
  • flushing,
  • drowsiness,
  • shaking,
  • severe dizziness
  • persistent nausea or vomiting,
  • change in the amount of urine,
  • hunger,
  • fruity breath odor, and
  • fast heartbeat,
  • tingling in the hands or feet,
  • sudden weight gain,
  • swelling ankles or feet,
  • sudden sweating,
  • unusual skin blisters,
  • severe stomach pain that may spread to the back,
