Isopto Hyoscine (scopolamine)

Isopto Hyoscine (scopolamine hydrobromide) is an anticholinergic drug used to dilate (widen) your pupil when you have an inflammatory condition or in diagnostic or post-surgery situations in which this effect may be helpful. The brand name Isopto Hyoscine medication is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • blurred vision,
  • dry mouth,
  • drowsiness,
  • sensitivity to light,
  • temporary burning/stinging /redness of the eye,
  • inflammation, or
  • swelling of the eyelids

  • Isopto Atropine Sterile Topical Ophthalmic Solution (atropine sulfate)
  • Blephamide Ophthalmic Ointment (sulfacetamide sodium and prednisolone acetate)

  • Photrexa Viscous (riboflavin 5’-phosphate in 20% dextran ophthalmic solution)
