IsonaRif (sulfamethoxazole)
type of Antitubercular Agents
IsonaRif (rifampin and isoniazid capsules) is a combination of an antimycobacterial and a form of isonicotinic acid indicated for pulmonary tuberculosis in which organisms are susceptible, and when the patient has been titrated on the individual components and it has therefore been established that this fixed dosage is therapeutically effective.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- upper stomach pain,
- loss of appetite,
- dark urine,
- fever,
- easy bruising,
- pale skin,
- confusion,
- tiredness,
- clay-colored stools,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
- weakness,
- hallucinations,
- vision changes,
- unusual thoughts or behavior,
- unusual weakness,
- unusual bleeding (nose, mouth, vagina, or rectum), and
- purple or red pinpoint spots under your skin
