Yervoy (ipilimumab injection)
type of Antineoplastics Monoclonal Antibody
Yervoy (ipilimumab) is a monoclonal antibody used to treat late-stage, metastatic melanoma, a deadly skin cancer. Yervoy is thought to work by allowing the body's immune system to recognize, target, and attack cells in these tumors. Patients with metastatic melanoma are shown to live longer when treated with Yervoy.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- itching,
- dark urine,
- fever,
- swollen glands,
- lightheadedness,
- shortness of breath,
- weight loss,
- confusion,
- body aches,
- tiredness,
- right sided upper stomach pain,
- chest pain,
- tingling,
- dizziness,
- weight gain,
- headache,
- fainting,
- sore throat,
- burning eyes,
- little or no urination,
- bleeding,
- increased thirst,
- increased urination,
- mood changes,
- swelling in your feet or ankles,
- severe stomach pain,
- irregular heartbeats,
- hallucinations,
- feeling cold,
- bloody or tarry stools,
- memory problems,
- yellowing of your skin or eyes (jaundice),
- neck stiffness,
- blood in your urine,
- drowsiness, and
- severe muscle weakness,
- bruising,
- lack of energy,
- severe or ongoing diarrhea,
- seizure
- frequent or unusual headaches,
- blistering,
- new or worsening skin rash,
- skin pain, red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling,
- feeling chills,
- ongoing pain in your muscles or joints,
