Ultravist (iopromide injection)
type of Iodinated Contrast Media
Ultravist (iopromide) is a nonionic, water-soluble x-ray contrast agent used for intra-arterial and intravenous procedures including angiography, arteriography, ventriculography, aortography, venography, urography, and Computed Tomography (CT).
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- loss of appetite,
- itching,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- fever,
- lightheadedness,
- chills,
- dizziness,
- headache,
- wheezing,
- fainting,
- nervousness,
- sweating,
- weakness,
- cough,
- noisy breathing,
- chest pain or pressure,
- unusual tiredness,
- sore throat,
- little or no urination,
- increased thirst,
- irregular heartbeat,
- increased urge to urinate,
- difficulty swallowing,
- bloating,
- convulsions,
- extreme fatigue,
- back or side pain,
- red or irritated eyes,
- pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck,
- dilated neck veins,
- irregular breathing,
- tingling of the hands or feet,
- weight gain or loss,
- discoloration of the skin,
- bluish lips or skin,
- bloody urine,
- cough with pink frothy sputum,
- sensitivity to heat,
- blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin,
- white spots in the mouth or on the lips,
- flushing (redness or warmth of the skin),
- pale skin at the injection site,
- joint of muscle pain,
- red skin rash with purple center,
- swelling the feet or lower legs, and
- trouble sleeping
