Omnipaque (iohexol injection) is a radiographic contrast medium indicated for intrathecal administration in adults including myelography (lumbar, thoracic, cervical, total columnar) and in contrast enhancement for computerized tomography (myelography, cisternography, ventriculography).

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• headache,
• vomiting,
• fever,
• hives, 
• stomach upset or pain,
• mild to moderate pain including backache, neck ache and stiffness,
• nerve pain,
• visual hallucinations, and
• neurological changes.

The following drugs are related to Omnipaque, either as a replacement or used together:

• Liquid E-Z-PAQUE (barium sulfate oral solution)
• E-Z-HD (barium sulfate oral suspension)
• Readi-Cat 2 (barium sulfate suspension)
• Spy Agent Green (indocyanine green injection)
• Technescan PYP (kit for the preparation of technetium tc 99m pyrophosphate injection)
