Semglee (insulin glargine injection) is a long-acting human insulin analog indicated to improve glycemic control in adults and pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus and in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

The drug is often used to treat Type 2 diabetes .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• low blood sugar (hypoglycemia),
• allergic reactions,
• injection site reactions,
• changes in body fat distribution (lipodystrophy),
• itching,
• rash,
• fluid retention (edema),
• and weight gain
