Levemir (insulin detemir [rDNA origin] injection) is a man-made form of a hormone that is produced in the body used to treat diabetes in adults and children.

The drug is often used to treat Diabetes .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• shortness of breath,
• fast heartbeats,
• fluttering in your chest,
• weight gain,
• constipation,
• swelling in your hands or feet,
• irregular heartbeats,
• trouble breathing,
• increased thirst or urination,

• numbness or tingling, and
• muscle weakness or limp feeling
• itchy skin rash over the entire body,
• redness or swelling where the injection was given,
• swelling in your tongue or throat,
