INFeD (iron dextran) Injection is a form of the mineral iron used to treat iron deficiencies and iron deficiency anemia.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• sweating,
• dizziness,
• vomiting,
• diarrhea,
• fever,
• chills,
• flushing,
• headache.
• tingling of the hands/feet,
• shivering, or
• muscle or joint pain or aches,
• metallic taste in the mouth, or

The following drugs are related to Infed, either as a replacement or used together:

• Accrufer (ferric maltol capsules)
• Feraheme (ferumoxytol injection)
• Monoferric (ferric derisomaltose injection)
• NuFera (iron supplement tablets)
• Photrexa Viscous (riboflavin 5’-phosphate in 20% dextran ophthalmic solution)
