Indocin (indomethacin) for oral use is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat severe rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, acute gouty arthritis, bursitis, and tendinitis. Indocin is available in generic form.

The drug is often used to treat Ankylosing spondylitis .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • headache
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • dizziness
  • constipation
  • blurred vision
  • gas
  • upset stomach
  • skin rash
  • bloating
  • heartburn
  • rectal irritation
  • itching, or
  • nervousness
  • ringing in your ears
  • feeling of bowel fullness
