Imitrex Injection (sumatriptan succinate) is a selective serotonin receptor agonist used to treat migraine headaches. Imitrex is available as a generic drug.

The drug is often used to treat Migraine .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • fever,
  • pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder,
  • seizure,
  • severe headache,
  • blurred vision,
  • pounding in your neck or ears,
  • fainting,
  • sweating,
  • agitation,
  • overactive reflexes,
  • chest pain or pressure,
  • burning pain,
  • nosebleed,
  • muscle weakness,
  • irregular heartbeats,
  • anxiety,
  • hallucinations,
  • fast heart rate,
  • loss of coordination,
  • bloody diarrhea,
  • severe chest pain,
  • slurred speech, and
  • cold feeling,
  • numbness and tingling,
  • sudden and severe stomach pain,
  • cramps in your legs or feet,
  • hip pain,
  • problems with vision or balance
  • sudden numbness or weakness (especially on side of the body),
  • tight or heavy feeling in your legs or feet,
  • color changes (pale and blue),
