Imitrex (sumatriptan succinate)
type of Antimigraine Agents, Serotonin 5-HT-Receptor Agonists
Imitrex (sumatriptan) is a selective serotonin receptor agonist used in oral, intranasal or injectable dosage form to treat migraine headaches. Imitrex is available as a generic drug.
The drug is often used to treat Migraine .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- fever,
- shortness of breath,
- agitation,
- irregular heartbeats,
- slurred speech,
- hallucinations,
- seizure (convulsions),
- loss of coordination,
- muscle stiffness,
- leg cramps,
- sweating or shivering,
- sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body,
- severe chest pain,
- cold feeling in your legs or feet,
- hip pain,
- sudden, severe stomach pain,
- diarrhea with or without the presence of blood,
- pain in your jaw or shoulder,
- numbness or tingling in your legs or feet,
- burning pain in your legs or feet,
- color changes in your legs or feet,
- difficulty seeing,
- poor balance, and
- sudden severe headache
