Iclusig (ponatinib tablets)
type of Antineoplastic Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors
Iclusig (ponatinib) is a kinase inhibitor used to treat chronic phase, accelerated phase, or blast phase chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) or Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) who do not benefit from or who do not tolerate other treatment.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- loss of appetite,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
- vomiting,
- fever,
- easy bruising,
- unusual bleeding,
- pale skin,
- lightheadedness,
- shortness of breath,
- cold hands and feet,
- confusion,
- chills,
- tiredness,
- dizziness,
- vision problems,
- pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder,
- seizure,
- swelling,
- headache,
- chest pain or pressure,
- muscle weakness,
- mouth sores,
- severe stomach pain,
- rapid weight gain,
- dark urine, and
- sudden numbness or weakness (especially on one side of the body),
- slurred speech,
- problems with vision or balance,
- bloody or tarry stools,
- coughing up blood,
- fast or pounding heartbeats,
- fast heart rate,
- skin sores,
- eye pain or swelling,
- increased sensitivity to light,
- pink or brown urine,
- nosebleeds,
- heavy menstrual periods,
- sudden severe headache,
- bleeding in the eye,
- change in mental status,
- upper stomach pain (may spread to your back),
- vomit that is bloody or looks like coffee grounds,
- pain or swelling in your arms or legs,
- flashes or light or “floaters” in your vision,
- severe pain or swelling in your stomach with a high fever,
- trouble moving your eyes or other parts of your face,
- tingling, burning pain, numbness in your hands or feet,
