Hyzaar (losartan potassium-hydrochlorothiazide)

Hyzaar (losartan potassium-hydrochlorothiazide) is a combination of an angiotensin II receptor antagonist and a thiazide diuretic (water pill) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Hyzaar is also used to lower the risk of stroke in certain people with heart disease. Hyzaar is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- vomiting,
- lightheadedness,
- confusion,
- vision problems,
- constipation,
- joint pain,
- little or no urination,
- increased thirst,
- increased urination,
- rapid weight gain,
- irregular heartbeats,
- eye pain,
- muscle pain,
- leg cramps,
- numbness or tingling,
- swelling in your hands, feet, or ankles,
- skin rash on your cheeks or arms that worsens in sunlight,
- severe weakness,
- loss of movement, and
- feeling jittery or unsteady
