Levsin SL (hyoscyamine sulfate tablets)

Levsin SL (hyoscyamine sulfate) is one of the principal anticholinergic/antispasmodic components of belladonna alkaloids used to treat many different stomach and intestinal disorders, including peptic ulcer and irritable bowel syndrome. Levsin SL is also used to control muscle spasms in the bladder, kidneys, or digestive tract, and to reduce stomach acid, and is sometimes used to reduce tremors and rigid muscles in people with symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Levsin SL may be available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- headache,
- dizziness,
- blurred vision,
- vomiting,
- constipation,
- nervousness,
- dry mouth,
- trouble sleeping (insomnia),
- drowsiness,
- vision problems,
- flushing,
- impotence,
- changes in taste,
- heartburn,
- dry skin,
- bloating,
- problems with urination,
- decreased sweating,
- loss of interest in sex, or
- trouble having an orgasm.
