Siklos (hydroxyurea tablets, for oral use)

Siklos (hydroxyurea) is an antimetabolite, indicated to reduce the frequency of painful crises and to reduce the need for blood transfusions in pediatric patients, 2 years of age and older, with sickle cell anemia with recurrent moderate to severe painful crises.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- loss of appetite,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
- vomiting,
- fever,
- easy bruising,
- unusual bleeding,
- pale skin,
- lightheadedness,
- shortness of breath,
- cold hands and feet,
- chills,
- tiredness,
- wheezing,
- mouth sores,
- dark urine, and
- fast heart rate,
- dry cough,
- numbness, tingling, or burning pain in your hands or feet,
- skin numbness or purple discoloration,
- sudden chest pain,
- upper stomach pain (that may spread to your back),
- skin ulcers or open sores,
