Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine)

Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) is an antimalarial medication used to treat or prevent malaria, a disease caused by parasites, which enter the body through the bite of a mosquito. Plaquenil is also used to treat symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and discoid or systemic lupus erythematosus. Plaquenil is available in generic form.
The drug is often used to treat Malaria .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- fever,
- easy bruising,
- pale skin,
- chills,
- dizziness,
- headache,
- fainting,
- sweating,
- sore throat,
- muscle weakness,
- mouth sores,
- irritability,
- fast or pounding heartbeats,
- fast heart rate,
- skin sores,
- swollen gums,
- hunger,
- numbness or tingling,
- weak pulse,
- swelling or color changes in your eyes,
- headache with chest pain and severe dizziness,
- very slow heart rate,
- unusual bleeding, and
- feeling anxious or shaky,
- feeling lightheaded
- trouble focusing your eyes,
- light flashes in your vision,
- weakness or ill feeling,
