Hymovis (high molecular weight viscoelastic hyaluronan)

Hymovis (high molecular weight viscoelastic hyaluronan) is a natural hyaluronan similar to the hyaluronan found in the synovial fluid present in the human joint indicated for the treatment of pain in osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in patients who have failed to respond adequately to conservative non-pharmacologic therapy or simple analgesics (e.g., acetaminophen).

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • joint pain,
  • joint stiffness,
  • joint swelling, and
  • injection site reactions (pain, discomfort, redness, swelling, itching).
