Monovisc (high molecular weight hyaluronan injection) is a complex sugar used to treat pain in osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in patients who have failed to respond adequately to conservative non-pharmacologic therapy or simple analgesics (e.g., acetaminophen).

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• bleeding,
• swelling of your face, tongue, or throat,
• increased knee pain, and
• warmth, swelling, or redness around the knee

• Cambia (diclofenac potassium for oral solution)
• Celebrex (celecoxib)
• Voltaren (diclofenac sodium)
• Voltaren XR (diclofenac sodium extended-release tablets)

• Nalfon (fenoprofen calcium)
• Mobic (meloxicam)
• Synojoynt (1% sodium hyaluronate solution)
