Healon (sodium hyaluronate) is used as a surgical aid in cataract extraction (intra- and extracapsular), intraocular lens (IOL) implantation, corneal transplant, glaucoma filtration and retinal attachment surgery.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- inflammation, or
- a temporary rise in intraocular (inside the eye) pressure,
- corneal swelling
