Sustol (granisetron extended-release injection)
type of Antiemetics, Selective 5-HT3 Antagonist
Sustol (granisetron), extended-release Injection is a serotonin-3 (5-HT3) receptor antagonist indicated in combination with other antiemetics in adults for the prevention of acute and delayed nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of moderately emetogenic chemotherapy (MEC) or anthracycline and cyclophosphamide (AC) combination chemotherapy regimens.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- fever,
- fainting,
- agitation,
- overactive reflexes,
- fast or pounding heartbeats,
- fast heart rate,
- fainting
- loss of coordination, and
- severe constipation,
- hallucination,
- headache with chest pain and severe dizziness,
- pain, swelling, bleeding, skin changes, or a hard lump where the injection was given,
