Simponi Injection (golimumab injection)

Simponi (golimumab injection) is a human IgG1k monoclonal antibody used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Simponi is sometimes used with another medication called methotrexate (Rheumatrex, Trexall). Simponi works by blocking a protein (tumor necrosis factor or TNF) found in the body's immune system that causes joint swelling and damage.
The drug is often used to treat Ankylosing spondylitis , Psoriatic arthritis .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- loss of appetite,
- dark urine,
- diarrhea,
- fever,
- night sweats,
- pale skin,
- lightheadedness,
- shortness of breath,
- weight loss,
- chills,
- tiredness,
- stomach pain,
- clay-colored stools,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
- cough,
- sore throat,
- increased urination,
- mouth sores,
- right-sided upper stomach pain,
- vision changes,
- coughing up blood,
- skin sores,
- muscle or joint pain,
- easy bruising or bleeding,
- warmth,
- redness,
- numbness or tingly feeling,
- swelling of your ankles or feet,
- weakness in your arms or legs,
- burning pain when urinating,
- skin growths,
- changes in skin appearance,
- skin rash on your cheeks or arms that worsens in sunlight, and
- red or scaly patches of skin, flaking or pus
