Glydo (lidocaine hci jelly usp, 2%)

Glydo (lidocaine HCl jelly, 2%) contains a local anesthetic agent used to prevent and control pain in procedures involving the male and female urethra, for topical treatment of painful urethritis, and as an anesthetic lubricant for endotracheal intubation (oral and nasal). Glydo is available as a generic.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• vomiting,
• lightheadedness,
• confusion,
• dizziness,
• nervousness,
• low blood pressure, and
• slow heart rate,
• drowsiness,
• twitching,
• tremors,
• convulsions,
• blurred or double vision,
• euphoria,
• apprehension,
• ringing in the ears (tinnitus),
• sensations of heat, cold or numbness,
• unconsciousness,
• respiratory depression and arrest,
• allergic reactions (hives, swelling, or anaphylaxis)
