Gattex (teduglutide [rDNA origin]) for Injection is a glucagon-like peptide-2 analog used for the treatment of adult patients with Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS) who are dependent on parenteral support.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• vomiting,
• fever,
• shortness of breath,
• chills,
• rapid weight gain,
• dark urine, and
• severe pain in your upper stomach spreading to your back,
• severe constipation,
• stomach cramps,
• yellowing of your skin or eyes (jaundice)
• swelling in your hands and feet,
• change in your stools (bowel movements),
