Gardasil 9 (human papillomavirus 9-valent vaccine, recombinant) is a vaccine indicated in girls and women 9 through 26 years of age to protect against 9 types of HPV that cause cervical cancer, vaginal and vulvar cancers, anal cancer, and genital warts. Gardasil 9 is used in boys 9 through 15 years of age, to help protect against 9 types of HPV that cause anal cancer and genital warts.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• swollen glands,
• tiredness,
• numbness,
• dizziness,
• fever
• flu-like symptoms,
• weakness,
• sore throat,
• headaches,
• seizures,
• pain,
• muscle or joint pain,
• fainting, and
• sleep problems,
• fatigue,
• fast or irregular heartbeats,
• death,
• weakness and tingling in the feet and lights that spread to the upper body,
• paralysis,  
• problems thinking, remembering, or concentrating,
