Gammagard Liquid (immune globulin intravenous (human) 10%)

Gammagard Liquid [Immune Globulin Intravenous (Human)] 10% is a preparation of highly purified and concentrated immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies used to treat primary immune deficiency, and to reduce the risk of infection in individuals with poorly functioning immune systems such as those with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Gammagard Liquid is also used to increase platelets (blood clotting cells) in people with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) and to prevent aneurysm caused by a weakening of the main artery in the heart associated with Kawasaki syndrome. Gammagard Liquid is also used to treat chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), a debilitating nerve disorder that causes muscle weakness and can affect daily activities.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • dark urine,
  • rapid breathing,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • chest pain,
  • severe headache,
  • rapid heart rate,
  • swelling,
  • wheezing,
  • vomiting
  • flu symptoms,
  • mouth sores,
  • sudden cough,
  • rapid weight gain,
  • sudden numbness or weakness (especially on one side of the body),
  • slurred speech,
  • problems with vision or balance,
  • high fever,
  • trouble breathing,
  • coughing up blood,
  • fast heart rate,
  • blue lips,
  • little or no urinating,
  • neck stiffness,
  • increased sensitivity to light,
  • nausea, and
  • pale or blue colored appearance in your fingers or toes,
  • pain, swelling or redness in one or both legs,
