Fortesta (testosterone gel)

Fortesta (testosterone) gel is a male hormone (an androgen) indicated for replacement therapy in males for conditions associated with a deficiency or absence of endogenous testosterone, such as primary hypogonadism (congenital or acquired) or hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (congenital or acquired). Fortesta is available as a generic.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- upper stomach pain,
- loss of appetite,
- itching,
- dark urine,
- shortness of breath,
- rapid breathing,
- tiredness,
- clay-colored stools,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
- pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder,
- swelling,
- wheezing,
- chest pain or pressure,
- increased urination,
- painful or difficult urination,
- sudden cough,
- rapid weight gain,
- aggression,
- coughing up blood, and
- loss of bladder control,
- breast pain or swelling,
- painful or bothersome erections,
- swelling, warmth, or redness in an arm or leg
- Specific to children and women:
- enlarged genitals,
- premature pubic hair,
- increased libido,
- male-pattern baldness,
- excessive body hair growth,
- increased acne,
- irregular periods, and
- any other male characteristics
