Lescol (fluvastatin sodium)
type of Lipid-Lowering Agents, Statins, HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors
Lescol (fluvastatin sodium) is a cholesterol-lowering medication used to reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and total cholesterol in the blood, and is used to help prevent heart disease and hardening of the arteries, conditions that can lead to heart attack, stroke, and vascular disease.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- headache,
- diarrhea,
- sleep problems (insomnia), or
- stomach upset or pain,

indigestion,
- muscle pain/tenderness/weakness (especially with fever or unusual tiredness),
- changes in the amount of urine,
- cold symptoms such as
stuffy nose, sneezing, or
sore throat.
