Sarafem (fluoxetine hydrochloride) Tablets is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Sarafem is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • dizziness,
  • constipation,
  • nervousness,
  • drowsiness,
  • sleep problems (insomnia),
  • impotence,
  • upset stomach,
  • increased appetite,
  • weight changes,
  • decreased sex drive,
  • dry mouth.
