Iluvien (fluocinolone acetonide intravitreal implant)

Iluvien (fluocinolone acetonide) Intravitreal Implant is a corticosteroid used to treat diabetic macular edema in patients who have been previously treated with a course of corticosteroids and did not have a clinically significant rise in intraocular pressure.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• blurred vision,
• eye pain or swelling,
• tunnel vision,
• seeing halos around lights,
• eye redness,
• problems with peripheral (side) vision,
• bleeding, oozing, or crusting of your eyes,
• flashes of light or “floaters” in your vision, and
• cloudiness in your pupil or iris (colored part of your eyes)
