Flumadine (rimantadine)

Flumadine (rimantadine hydrochloride) is an antiviral medication used to treat and prevent influenza A (a viral infection) in adults and in children. There may be some flu seasons during which Flumadine is not recommended because certain flu strains may be resistant to this drug. Flumadine is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- loss of appetite,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- stomach pain,
- dizziness,
- dry mouth,
- headache,
- nervousness,
- weakness,
- drowsiness,
- anxiety, or
- trouble sleeping (insomnia),
- trouble concentrating
