Fludrocortisone Tablets (fludrocortisone)

Fludrocortisone acetate tablets are an adrenocortical steroid indicated as partial replacement therapy for primary and secondary adrenocortical insufficiency in Addison's disease and for the treatment of salt-losing adrenogenital syndrome. Fludrocortisone is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • headache,
  • abdominal distention,
  • swelling,
  • hives, 
  • increased sweating,
  • acne,
  • congestive heart failure,
  • slow wound healing,
  • excess hair growth,
  • bruising, 
  • stretch marks, 
  • thin fragile skin, 
  • menstrual irregularities, 
  • muscle weakness, 
  • osteoporosis, 
  • vertigo,
  • high blood pressure,
  • enlarged heart,
  • potassium loss,
  • fractures,
  • peptic ulcer,
  • pancreatitis,
  • red spots on the skin, and bruising,
  • facial redness,
  • discoloration of the skin and nails,
  • convulsions,
  • cataracts,
  • glaucoma,
  • high blood sugar, and
  • allergic skin rash.
