Ferrlecit (sodium ferric gluconate)

Ferrlecit (sodium ferric gluconate complex in sucrose) Injection is an iron replacement product used to treat iron deficiency anemia in adults and children 6 years and older with chronic kidney disease receiving hemodialysis who are receiving supplemental epoetin therapy. Ferrlecit is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- shortness of breath,
- chest pain,
- nausea,
- headache,
- dizziness,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- high or low blood pressure,
- injection site reactions (pain, redness, swelling, or irritation),
- cramps,
- general ill feeling (malaise),
- leg cramps and
- pain.

- Accrufer (ferric maltol capsules)
- Extraneal (icodextrin peritoneal dialysis solution)
- Feraheme (ferumoxytol injection)
- Monoferric (ferric derisomaltose injection)
