Feridex I.V. (ferumoxides injectable solution)

Feridex I.V. (ferumoxides injectable solution) is a colloid of superparamagnetic iron oxide associated with dextran used for I.V. administration as an adjunct to MRI (in adult patients) to enhance the T2 weighted images used in the detection and evaluation of lesions of the liver that are associated with an alteration in the RES. The brand name Feridex I.V. is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, and
• dizziness
